A fairly interesting post on one man’s body image and how images in the media affect him.

Somebody way smarter than me [...]

Exercise and gender

I enjoy exercise. I cycle almost every day, I run several times a week, I swim, I play badminton, I’ll never catch a bus when I can walk and I can dance for hours without losing my breath. I recently signed up to do the Blenheim Triathlon, and I’ll be doing the 3 Peaks challenge [...]

Take Heart, Sisters!

Bitch made their target! I’m so happy that they’ll be printing the next issue and will live to fight another day. Basically, yay! I was afraid that I’d have to start reading Bust and take up knitting *shudder*.

So now that my official period of self pity (I got dumped) is over, I’m going to kick off by urging all three of you that read this blog to donate to Bitch. I love Bitch. I love Bitch almost as much as I hate Heat and Grazia. It’s one of those magazines that you [...]

Unequal prospects

I was browsing the Guardian in my lunch break today while listening to vintage Queen Latifah, and two stories caught my attention. I don’t have a lot of time today, so I’ll keep it short, but here they are:
This article reports on a new study that highlights institutionalized racism in British schools. It turns out [...]
